Immigrant Legal Center Child and Family Managing attorney Astrid Munn has been selected to be an Advocate in the 2020/2021 LeadDIVERSITY program. LeadDIVERSITY is an Inclusive Communities program held in partnership with OPPD, the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce and The Business Ethics Alliance.
LeadDIVERSITY is a year-long program designed to build a network of leaders dedicated to creating localized solutions to diversity and inclusion opportunities in Nebraska. LeadDIVERSITY participants (referred to as Advocates) receive exceptional skills training to move Nebraska workplaces and communities forward.
Advocates will work together on a diversity, equity and inclusion focused service project highlighting the imperative nature of implementing serious social change. During this program, Advocates will engage in topics that will leave them well versed and experienced in anticipating diversity and inclusion needs in the workplace as well as the community.
“Diversity and Inclusion are cornerstones of our work at Immigrant Legal Center,” said Erik Omar, Executive Director at Immigrant Legal Center. “We are thrilled to have Astrid Munn represent ILC as an Advocate for LeadDIVERSITY.”
As the Child and Family Managing attorney, Astrid works with staff attorneys and DOJ-accredited representatives to provide direct immigration legal services to vulnerable children and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and other violent crime.
“I am grateful to ILC leadership for encouraging me to participate in LeadDIVERSITY,” said Munn, “I look forward to using this experience to enhance ILC’s ability to welcome its staff and clients into our communities.”
