Immigrant Legal Center’s Executive Director, Erik Omar spoke with KETV’s José Zozaya about President Biden’s U.S. Citizenship Act and the executive order “fortifying and preserving” the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program (DACA).
President Biden signed five executive orders addressing immigration, including the measure fortifying DACA, during his first week in office. Omar said it would take congress to pass a comprehensive immigration bill, but that “the U.S. Citizenship Act… is a good first step.”
Omar said that “Nebraskans understand immigration” and that they “want the system to be fixed.”
